Calling out all mothers and daughters!
Pause for a moment and think about the woman who raised you. What did she teach you? Give you? Take from you? What were your happy moments? Hard moments? Who are you because of her?
We are teaming up with another brilliant minded boss lady, Adina, to collect a series of beautiful stories in order to create a daughters’ bible. A bible filled with stories, anecdotes, advice, lessons, and things that you wish you could say to your mother but just don’t know how. Remember this video, that touched your soul to teary eyes?
There is no wrong answer as to what you can share. Whether it’s a meaningful story, something silly, a quote, life advice your mother has given you, or even the beauty tips that she passed on.
Beyond Bossy loved the idea of this “Things My Mother Told Me” compilation instantly. We know the importance of our mothers and the strong hold it has on who we are as women. As bossy’s very own, Julie, mentioned:
Behind my story is my mother’s story. She is where I began. She is where I found my strength, my disappointment, my anger, my hurt, but most importantly, my unconditional love. She taught me the importance of being the heroine of your own life, not the victim. Through every laugh and every cry, we developed a relationship that is strong yet fragile, and forever mending. But this I know for sure: She’s a fighter. And she raised me to be the same thing. Superwomen raise superwomen. Through all our differences that will remain, I am proud she is my mother and she is proud that I am her little girl. For the strong woman; may we know them, be them, and raise them.
This collection will be forwarded to Adina as she will compile this book and present it to her own beautiful mother as a “thank you” to all that she has done and all the wisdom she bestowed onto her life. In turn, it is a “thank you” to all the selfless, strong, brilliant, hardworking mothers that make up our world. Without them, where would we be?
Daughters, this is for you too. For you who will one day become mothers as well.
Beyond Bossy will be gathering some of our favourite submissions from this campaign to combine for our readers as well! We loved this idea so much, we know you will all as well.
E-mail your stories to firstname.lastname@example.org or submit them below. Please note our usual policy – if you would like to stay anonymous or submit under a pen name please let us know. We know that sometimes it could be difficult to share things, but don’t let that hold you back. Share your story, we want to hear it – always.
Let’s take it further!
We will soon be hosting a giveaway with this project – keep in touch on social media & subscribe to our E-Newsletter to stay posted!
